Interior Design Assistant - Ghana
(Full Time Role)
Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for seeing design come to life on site? ARDOR IN DESIGN is seeking a detail-oriented and design-driven Interior Design Assistant based in Accra, Ghana to support our Lead Interior Designer with site inspections, artisan workshop visits, and design coordination for luxury residential and commercial projects.
This project-based role calls for flexibility, initiative, and an appreciation for craftsmanship. You’ll play a key role in upholding ARDOR’s design excellence on the ground, blending creative intuition with hands-on oversight, while collaborating closely with our London team.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure finishes, layouts, and detailing align with project specifications.
Visit artisan workshops (joinery, upholstery, metalwork, and decorative finishes) to inspect craftsmanship, materials, and colour accuracy.
Capture clear images and videos of progress, documenting and reporting findings for review by the Lead Interior Designer.
Communicate site updates promptly and professionally, noting any areas requiring clarification or correction.
Liaise with local suppliers and artisans to coordinate sample reviews, approvals, and material collections as required.
Assist in receiving deliveries and overseeing installations on site to ensure items are handled and placed according to the design plan.
Carry out any additional or ad hoc responsibilities assigned by the Lead Interior Designer, including sourcing, site preparation, or follow-up on project activities.
Core Requirements
1. Education & Technical Background
Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Built Environment
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SketchUp is a plus
Basic understanding of construction drawings, materials, and joinery/furniture detailing.
Bonus: Familiarity with Photoshop or presentation tools (eg. InDesign, MS PowerPoint)
2. Experience
1–3 years’ experience working in an interior design, architecture, or construction environment.
Experience conducting site inspections or workshop visits
Prior collaboration with artisans, joiners, or contractors is a plus.
